I was saved at age 8 in 1953

Remained ignorant in the walk as a believer

“ But thank God for His grace , I believed the Gospel”

“Ignorant of this verse ”

Ephesians 6:10-17

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

I had the sword, But I did not know how to use it.

A. Rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

B. Sound doctrine.

C. Not Knowing who I am in Christ.

But now; I am free from the bondage of my ignorance and my eyes are open.

Thank God for His mercy and His Grace.

I grew up blessed with parents who instilled in us a love of Christ and the ability to attend church and a Christian school. As I recall back, I recall that every day I felt I had to repent in order to stay saved. This was exhausting.

I went to Bible College in 1988, and it was during one of the Chapel services where they were teaching being sanctified, and the works we needed to do to keep our salvation. It was mentally exhausting because I felt it difficult to keep track of if I thought something bad during the day, or did something that was sinful.

During that service, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and reminded me that my Savior Jesus Christ died on the Cross for all my sins and I already had believed and had faith that Christ died for me, so I was reminded that it was for ALL my sins.

That is when life changed for me as the stress and struggle to ‘stay saved’ was gone and I finally felt the freedom that Grace gives me.

The Cross that cost my Lord His life, Has absolutely given me mine!

As a young child, I was taken to church by a Christian family and later I started riding the church van each Sunday. I remember distinctly thinking that I wanted to be a part of this way of life and admired many families in the church in which I attended. I truly felt the love of Christ even at this young age.

During a children’s church message about the death of Jesus on the cross, I felt the Lord speak to me about being a sinner. The teacher read the verses in Romans that we all have sinned, and we all fall short of the glory of God. I knew that I needed to ask Jesus to forgive me that day and I went to the front to pray for forgiveness and to receive the gift of salvation. I was seven years old. Not too long after that my parents were witnessed to and a man from the church had a burden for their souls as well. My parents came to know the Lord as their Savior when I was 8.

I always had a deep desire to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in my life and had a burden for the lost. I felt the Lord leading me to read my Bible and to witness. As I attended a private Christian school in my high school years, my knowledge of the Word grew. I attended Bible College after high school earning a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in Christian Education Studies.

I have been married for 29 years and we have seven children. I was a stay-at-home mother who homeschooled most of them through high school. We have one teenager home who will soon turn 18. Over the years I have been involved in many ministries and programs within the church. I returned to the ‘workforce’ after 20 years and now work for the public local school department as a substitute teacher’s aide and full-time school clinic nurse’s aide.

Keeping the Word of God fresh in your mind and soul, studying its vibrant truths, and sharing the Gospel message is a never-ending opportunity for the believer. I am thankful for the privilege to share God’s Word with the radio program and pray that the Lord blesses His word to the hearts of the listeners.
